It's Been a While...

Hello Friends! So, it has been a looong time since I have posted! I'm going to try to wrap up March in a quick way!

First things first...March 5th I walked/ran my first 10K. Emily and I, and some other girls from our Bible Study, trained for a 10K walk. We just planned on walking most of it and running some, but we actually ran way more than I thought we would (and more than I ever have). It was cold and raining off and on and took us about an hour and a half, but we finished, AND we weren't last! :) We are planning on doing more races like that in the future so that we will keep up the walking/running. I did it more for the training really...if I don't have a goal then I'll just slack on it, so it kept me motivated knowing that I HAD to make it 6 miles so I better keep it up! It was also a great way to get Alice and Dave out of the house and out in the sun!

March 7th was our 2nd Anniversary. This year seemed to fly by a lot faster than the first year. Probably because for the most of it we had a little one keeping us occupied, but either way I couldn't believe it had been 2 years already. We didn't do much...two days later was the beginning of Lent and this year we decided to give up meat, sweet tea (for me) and Coke (for Clayton). So, we decided to have cheeseburgers, fries, and sweet tea and ate at home. It was a very simple celebration, but it was perfect for us!

And like I said, Ash Wednesday was 2 days later and the beginning of no meat (except for fish) began. The first week was harder than I thought, but after a week I could tell a difference and I feel much better not eating meat. I may try to keep it up even after Easter. Not so hardcore, but for the most part I'll try to skip the meat.

The weekend after Lent began we traveled up to see Angela, Adam, Cooper and Mariah in Cape May, NJ. The weather was perfect and we had a GREAT time! We walked around the town, went to a free zoo, and ate amazing fresh seafood every night at home. Alice had a great time too! She loves being outside and she LOVED hanging out with her cousins. Cooper had a way of making Alice laugh harder than I've ever seen her...we tried to capture it in pictures, but they didn't do it justice. We had so much fun and we have seriously been thinking about moving somewhere near a beach! :)

Well that's all the major events that have happened this month. I'll try better to keep this more updated! Have a great week!
