Halloween!

This post is obviously late but here is what we did this year for Halloween!

First of all, the Sunday before, I was happily surprised when my best friend, Kathryn, called me to tell me that her flight back to NY had been cancelled so she was coming to SC for a couple of days because of the hurricane. I know she wanted to go home to check on her kitties, but it was so nice having her in town! Luckily her hubs was out of town too for work so they were both away from the awful storm. So a "couple of days" turned into a whole week and she got to spend Halloween evening with us!

Alice was the sweetest angel this year and got many compliments on her costume :) My mother-in-law came over and the three of us took Alice to a trunk-or-treat at my church growing up. It was so cute watching her go to each car and she started saying "Happy Halloween!" to everyone (without us telling her to) when they gave her candy. We left with a bag full and went back home to meet Clayton and his dad when they got off work. We had yummy pizza while Alice told us very dramatic stories about her life (something she's started doing lately...she's got quite the imagination), and then we got ready to go hit the neighborhood to trick-or-treat!

Clayton's parents went home so Kat, Clayton and I took Al to a few neighbors' houses and then went to my parents' house (they live one street over) and went to some of their neighbors that we knew. Then we went to a few friends' houses that live in our neighborhood which was so nice! So needless to say Alice had a great time and scored a TON of candy. We snacked on it for about a week and then sent the huge bag to Clayton's work where it was all eaten within a couple of hours ;)

Alice had so much fun and wanted to do it again, which I had to break it to her that we can only do it once a year. She was also upset when I took down the Halloween decorations and replaced them with fall ones. She gets it from her mama! ;) I love Halloween!!

Here are some pics!
